Unravelling the logic of life, using economics

I came across this fascinating insight into one of the peculiarities of society – particularly applicable for those of us living in South Africa.

It’s the logic of life, as told by an economist:

The guy in the video is Tim Harford, an economist by trade. What separates him from most economists I know is his ability to translate issues from his field of expertise into simple and understandable real-life situations [and he doesn't dwell on the theoretical solutions, looking instead to practical ones].

I’m just finishing off one of his books – The Undercover Economist – a brilliant read that truly changes your understanding and perception of the world around you and why things happen. This video above is based on Tim’s next book, The Logic of Life, which is also next on my reading list.

You can find Tim online here, and I would highly recommend his book The Undercover Economist.
