Web 2.0 failures. Teaching us how to succeed.

You’ve probably seen those fancy web 2.o images [like this one] listing all the trendy web 2.0 companies from the past few years.

But how many of them actually succeed?

Mashable just posted an excellent piece concerning the failure rate of these startups! The post refers to the updated web 2.0 collage image that highlights the failures amongst those web 2.0 companies up to now:

web 2.0 failures

Lots of big crosses. Yes, its plain to see that there are many failures, but isn’t that what we should expect anyway? [I'm actually surprised there aren't more].

With the low cost [relatively, compared to say starting up a platinum mine] it’s only natural that there would therefore be a whole lot more startups online trying their hand at things which should never be businesses in the first place.

Fact is that being a successful entrepreneur is understanding the odds, facing the fear and aiming to succeed in spite of the challenges.

After all, if it was easy everyone would be doing it!

[The failures have obvious benefit for us too in that we get to learn from their mistakes].

Ironically, I found this as I was doing some research for Project Neo. Fuel to the fire!

Read the Mashable post – it’s good!
